Goodbye Mom 😞

She went by many names throughout her life, I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of calling her Mom.

I really didn't think that I would have to write something so incredibly painful and heart-wrenching. You left a great and lasting impression on both myself and many others around you, which is why you will be truly missed by all of us who had the privilege to know you.

I don’t know how to say goodbye in a way that feels complete. I would always say that I will see you later, but now I don’t think I can truly believe that. Instead, I will say until we meet again, holding onto the hope that our paths will cross once more in the future. I love you Mom. 😢

The last time I was at Mike’s Luv & Music was 13 years ago to play a Halloween show. The venue may be gone but the memories are still there, I miss those days.

First Pair Of Custom Shoes

Six years ago today, I created my first pair of customs shoes. They weren’t the best running shoes but they did the job. These Motu (Masters of the Universe) shoes got me my fastest half marathon time by far at 2 hrs and 4 minutes. Maybe one day I can run like that again.

8-Bit Jason Customs

I decided to make a Friday the 13th video game inspired shoe. Still getting the hang of making custom sneakers, everything is still trial and error but I’m getting close. I really enjoyed making these, I had one person said that they looked great and another said that they looked like crap. Oh well, can’t win them all.

Goodbye Tío 😢

I honestly don’t know what to say, I’m literally lost for words. I can’t believe you left us so soon. The only bright side about this, you are not in pain. You were a good, caring man, I know if I ever needed, you were always there. Until we meet again. I love you Tío.

The Joker (Custom Shoes #2)

I saw Angel Reese had a pair of custom Joker shoes and I was like I can do that but make them my own. Lucky enough I had a pair of white Reebox that would work.

Someone told me if I didn’t tell him that I made them he would of thought I bought them like that. He said I was a great artist and that I should be doing this for a living. Probably the best complement I got in a while, made my day.

Custom Kicks

I love customizing my stuff, it’s another way to show my creative side. I could of kept the plain white Nikes as is but why? I like being different.

This Old Man

When I moved into the neighborhood years ago, I would see this man cooking on the grill, he would always say hi when I go walk my dogs and that would continue on for years. Anytime we would see each other we would wave hi, until the last few months, I didn’t see him or see his van move for work. About a month ago I saw his screen door hanging off the hinge of his place and I thought that was odd because I knew he was a handyman and he wouldn’t leave his screen door hanging like that.

One day I decided to walk to his place to see if he was alright until I saw a lockbox on his door and I knew that couldn’t be good sign.

About a week later I saw a sign for an estate sale pointing to his house, my heart sank because I knew the man who I saw for years had passed.

I decided to go the estate sale to see what he left behind, basically I was trying to find answers about this man. I couldn’t find much, he had old toy cars, he was constantly fixing his place, he loved Seinfeld because he had the entire series on dvd and this painting that someone made for him for his birthday. I asked the person who was running the estate sale what happened to the man that was living here and he said he doesn’t know so I asked him can I buy this painting and he said yeah sure.

I felt sad because I didn’t make an effort to get to know my neighbor or even know his first name. I don’t think he was married or had any family member still alive, I think I was more upset that he was alone when he passed.

Normally, I don’t write long blogs because I don’t articulate myself that well or theres a lot of run-on sentences but that’s OK. No pun intended but I had to paint a picture about this artwork and where I got it from.

Hopefully one day I can find the person that painted this picture for my neighbor and find out more about him.

Small Paintings

Getting back into the small painting series. Here’s a few I created in the past week, they almost look like coasters. Maybe that’s another thing I should try. 🤔

4x4 Painting 🖼️

It was fun trying to paint on a 4” x 4“ canvas. I thought I would lose something painting this small, I think I was careful enough to get my point across by painting this small. Also, I was happy and surprised that I sold a few of these paintings last week.

Palette Knife Painting

I had an idea for a painting but it wasn’t translating as well as I thought it would. I might go back and try that idea again but I like what I came up with when I didn’t over think it.

Landscape 2024

I was trying to add some drywall mud material like I did with another painting I made last year but the material kept flaking off the canvas. Regardless of the mud flaking off the canvas, I’m glad how this painting turned out.

Another Painting

Another painting before the month is out, I’m trying something different from what I usually create. I wish I would of painted this before Christmas, I have to thank my sister for letting me paint over her old painting.

My sister’s original painting from 2015

New Painting of the new year!

First painting of the new year, basically I recycled an old painting I wasn’t digging and jazzed it up a bit. Debating if I should draw her facial features or leave it as is.

Update: I decided to add her facial features and fix her hair. I guess I got in my own head. 🤔😂

Updated Face (1-17-24)

No Facial Features (1-16-24)

Santa iPhone Drawing

First time I made a drawing of Santa, it was fun and completely different from what I usually draw. I tried to fine tune Santa on my iPad but it wasn’t coming out right so I decided to fine tune it on a small screen instead, oh well 🤷🏽‍♂️😂. Merry Christmas! Ho! Ho! Ho!

Arkham Painting, 10 years later

The only reason I updated this painting because my eye kept going to the negative space on the side of the original. Plus I wanted to see if I can fix it by using spray paint, surprisingly it worked out.

More Custom Koozies

I think this is the most koozies I made in a week, I have fourteen blank koozies and I made ten. I thought I was taking a long time because I was painting them instead of using a paint pen, paint pen are faster but makes the art on the koozies look duller. I might say I hate making them but deep down I think I enjoy creating custom koozies. I love seeing the end results.
